Happy Birthday (The Morning Edition)

Emily was apparently so excited to start her birthday that she got up at 5 am. Silly girl. Some day, she will realize that the perfect birthday starts with sleeping in! Until then, it's just her, mommy and a cup of coffee!

She Has Great Taste In Music!

Em is the best. I was checking out a T-Pain video that sampled my favorite Lily Allen song and she danced to the part that Lily sings, but froze and looked at me all confused and crazy when T-Pain started. She has great taste! So now we're going to dance our way through Lily Allen albums until Jeff gets up!

Christmas!

Emily had her first Christmas celebration last night her Grandpa Gary's house.  Every time she opened a gift, she made the most shocked face.  Her jaw dropped, her eyes opened wide and she exclaimed "WOW, WOW, WOW!" over and over. It was amazing to watch!

Tiny Dancer!

This morning I noticed that Em would start dancing after each bite of her snack, but she would stop as soon as I pulled out the camera. I finally caught it this afternoon. Not sure what music she's dancing to, but my little girl beebops around the house all day long whether there is music playing or not.

Such A Little Lady

Every morning when I put Emily in her high chair and hand her a bottle, she crosses her legs over the little divider in the seat. Such a proper little lady, although where she learned that, I have NO IDEA! Definitely not from this tom boy.

Signing Time

Emily now signs "All Done" with just a verbal prompt! On the down side, her sign for milk is now a two handed sign that is starting to look a lot like "all done" and her waves to people are now basically "all done." Guess she just likes that gesture! Now if only she would let me film it...

She Loves Music

All of a sudden, Emily stopped babbling and playing on the floor and stared up at the TV. I looked up to see Michael Buble on the Today Show singing "Holly Jolly Christmas." Not sure if it's the Christmas Music or Michael Buble, but she's been struck silent and immobile!

Walking and Dancing!

Emily is trying to walk (with the aid of her walking toy) and she now dances to the music on her activity table!

You Laugh, I Laugh, We Laugh

Best part about today: Emily has decided that whenever I laugh it must be funny enough to warrant laugh from her as well. She's so cute!

Festival Time!

Emily went to her first festival today!  Yay for pulled pork barbeque sandwiches and fried pies!

LOL. I guess Emily has been paying more attention to our political conversations than I thought. I was watching some clips and after the one that almost made me laugh due to the absurdity, she pulled her bottle out of her mouth and raspberried! Awesome...

The Future Is Looking Bright

My sweet baby is wearing a cardigan and banging a ruler against the couch. She is so going to be a teacher! On the other hand, her little fingers are ice cold and she insists on using them to touch my feet. Maybe she'll be a nurse. They always have cold hands... Either way she has big plans ahead of her. I can tell!

Emily fed herself peas, carrots, corn and green beans tonight without any help from us.

Loves the big grin and excited squeal that meets me the moment I walk into the nursery! How is our baby such a morning person?

Emily has figured out that she can rub her bottom teeth against her top lip. I now have my own little mini Karl Childers from Sling Blade running around the house. Mmmmhmmm. If she starts asking for biscuits, I think I may freak out.

Mmm Donut...

The ladies at Dunkin' Donuts attempted to bribe a smile out of Emily with her first munchkin donut. She rewarded them with her signature scowl that she's been giving everyone since this weekend. She sure did love her first donut though!

Coolest Kid Ever!

I'm fairly sure that Emily is in the running for coolest kid ever. She was just babble singing to Eve 6. I  her, she is SO my daughter!

Bumper Car Baby!

Emily has decided that the only acceptable speed in the walker is ramming speed...I have a bumper car baby in the house!!!

I love how Emily is surrounded by toys and chooses to play with the border to her play mat, a blanket and a packet of wipes. Silly girl.

What a Big Girl!

Emily took her first bath in the big bathtub. She played with toys and splashed around. She even crawled around in it and chased down her toys. She really liked it!

Fingerprints of Love!

Little fingerprints on my glasses are a reminder that the best time I've had all day has been spent on the floor with Emily. She crawled over to me and we investigated all the musical, blinky toys she has. After she gets done with Daddy, it's story time and then bed!

The Snozzberries Taste Like Snozzberries!

New Emily behavior of the day: while in the pack n play, she likes to smash her face against the mesh and lick it. It looks ridiculous and makes me laugh every time!

Watch Out World!

It's official...Emily is crawling. Up until today she couldn't seem to get her arms and legs to work together. I just watched her go about 3 feet without falling. Watch out: This baby is mobile!

Look Ma, I Can Type!

Uh oh...Emily has discovered the fun of pounding on my laptop keyboard. This is going to make it tough to type while she's in my lap...

Bouncing Here and There and Everywhere!

Emily's new nickname is gummi bear now that she's figured out how the Jenny Jump-up works! Dashing and Daring, courageous and caring, faithful and friendly with stories to share...

Yummy Carrots!

So, I didn't think Emily liked carrots since she spit the first spoonful back at me, but I decided to give it another try. As the spoon approached her mouth the second time, she lunged at it with her mouth wide open. Apparently, spitting is her way of saying that she loves it so much she wants to share it with everyone and everything!

Fun in the Walker

Now that Emily has figured out that she can reach the floor and move in her walker, she keeps her feet planted firmly on the floor!

Scootin' Around

Emily has figured out how to scoot herself backwards on her tummy and is now making her way across the living room and giggling at the dogs. 

4 months old!

My sweet little Emily will be 4 months old tomorrow. She now rolls over, giggles, grabs her feet, suck on her fingers and seems to be getting her first tooth! How did all this happen already?

First giggles!

My sweet Emily giggled for the first time today.  How full my heart is right now!

A visit with Nana and Grandpa

Nana gave Emily a bath and now Grandpa is holding her and they are watching hockey. Emily has been drawn to the hockey games on TV and Grandpa couldn't be more pleased.

Valentine's Miracle

Well, Emily and I made it through our first day separated with only a few tears (mine, not hers). Then she came home and sat with daddy telling him how her day was in her mysterious language of coos and smiles.

It's the Little Things...

There are two things that have made me super happy tonight: Jeff begging Emily to let go of the fist full of chest hair she has grabbed and him and her sitting cooing at each other. He coos at her and she coos back.
